The predecessor of the swivel chair: Windsor chair improvement
Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States, had a whim about a Windsor chair at home in 1775. However, it has condensed the wisdom of folk crafts and art masters. The rustic solid wood, simple and smooth, quickly became popular in all walks of life. At first glance, there is little change. In fact, this chair has two layers of seating surfaces, which are linked by a central iron shaft, and pulleys are placed in the grooves between the seating surfaces to achieve the effect of fixing the lower part and rotating the upper part.
All the key features of the office chairs we currently use: can turn, can slide, and have a soft seat surface.
